goodbye my friend, it's not the end.

Yes, that's a line from the Spice Girls' song.

I'd be attending a two-day Ward Pharmacist (Clinical) Documentation Workshop in Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah (HSNZ), Kuala Terengganu starting tomorrow.
I get to hitch a ride with Mr Sunshine. Yay !

The past two days have been hectic, felt as if I barely had time to breathe.
Banyak kerja !

Things were not so rosy in the emotions department too.
Some people kept pressing the wrong buttons, resulting in me being very cold and agitated.
I also got to know that one of my colleagues, Nur Amalina (affectionately called Ina), who I am close to is leaving this Thursday.
Leaving.
Going back to HUSM, Kelantan.
Which means she will no longer be working at the hospital. :""(

The only photo I have of Ina and I. :(

She and I had grown to be so close in the span of 5 months that I have been here.
Besides sharing secrets, gossips and heart to heart conversations, cracking silly jokes, we were always discussing about new cases, patients (read: work) and she is just always there whenever I needed a helping hand.
She lives in the unit just below me, and we go out together sometimes, she (and her hubby !) looks out for me whenever I am unwell and whenever Mr Sunshine's not around.
Even the Pharmacy Assistants have told us we look like we'd make good best friends.
I'd definitely be missing the presence of such a good, trustworthy, kind-hearted, sweet and funny friend and co-worker !

This is sad.
And of course I cried. I still can cry now, if you want me to. :p
But I am definitely happy for her.
I wish nothing but the best for her future, especially for the 18-week old foetus she's carrying around now. ;)
I pray she'd be strong enough to face any obstacles and challenges at her new workplace.
Ameen.

Ok I'm gonna go sit and mope for a bit.
Bye.

earth hour ?

More like Earth Day for us here.

We had an 8-hour electricity cut off today.
Plus, I have been down with diarrhea since morning, so I need all the cooling down (with water AND the fan) I can get.

Hence, I do not think we'd be switching off our lights later for Earth Hour.

Ok bye.

high land.

Thank God it's the weekend.

It feels good to just laze around doing nothing with Mr Sunshine. :)

I cannot believe it's almost the end of March
Soon, it will be April !
I love April !

Not only because it's my birth month lah. Hehe.
But Mr Sunshine and I are planning a short getaway to the Highlands next month !
We have not finalized whether we'd be going to Cameron or Genting, but so far the odds are against Genting because we have cash vouchers for two nights stay at the Equatorial Hotel, Cameron Highlands.
The vouchers will be expiring end of next month.
So, we'd probably make a trip to Genting some other time.

Mr Sunshine will be away for a course in Port Dickson for 5 days next month.
And I am planning to take a flight back home to Gombak on my own for a couple of days to be with my family and also meet up with friends I dearly miss !
The only problem is transportation from to and fro the airport here.
I hope I will find a solution that does not involve leaving my car at the airport, so I can happily run into the arms of my loved ones. Hehe.

I honestly miss Gombak and all my friends ! :'(

insecurities.

i need that drive.

Warning: Boring/whiny post ahead.

It has been 2 and a half months since I got married.
Which means I have gone more than 2 and a half months without working out.

It has not done me any good, my clothes are getting tighter.
It doesn't help that nowadays I eat every day, breakfast, lunch AND dinner.
Sometimes supper too !
I enjoy eating with my Mr Sunshine. :(

I don't want to end up a woman who just lets herself go after she gets married.
Nor do I want to go back to how I looked like half a decade ago.

When I was looking like the above photo, people were still convincing me that I was not fat.
Can you see the amount of fat on my cheeks ?!
Eeee so fugly !

I have grown to look like this now.

It's a good thing I'm all covered up now, so you cannot exactly see all the rolls and flab underneath. Haha.

It pains me to go through old photos of myself and to stumble upon photos like this.

Or this.

I desperately want need to go back to looking like that !

Not only for the sake of fitting into my clothes, but also for my own health.
I want to be fit and healthy for Mr Sunshine.
InshaAllah, when and if I have kids, I want to be able to play and run after them with ease.
I do not want to be panting after walking up one flight of stairs.

Allow me to clarify, I am at currently still at a normal weight for my height, and I have an ideal body mass index.
My tops are mostly S or M in size.
But I still am not as fit and toned as I was before.

Gone are the days when I could exercise for two to three hours straight.

I tried exercising last Sunday, but I could not even bring myself to finish the whole DVD.
Although I probably worked a minuscule amount of muscle, my butt cheeks and inner thighs were so sore on the following Monday !
I used that as an excuse not to exercise.
And I only resumed exercising this evening !

Exercising twice a week won't get me anywhere near my old body. :'(

I need more motivation.
I need that drive.

I love exercising and how it empowers me, but..

AM
JUST
SUPER
LAZY
lah.

HOW ?

he ain't heavy, he's my brother.

Hello.
How could I have forgotten to write about Marc's job offer ?!
Yes yes, after going through FOUR stages of interview, he was offered a place as a Management Trainee at Sime Darby !
Effective April 19, he will be starting his six months as a trainee, and InshaAllah if he performs well, he will be absorbed into the company.
I know he can !
He had doubts throughout all the four stages of interview but I was confident he would make it through. Adik saya kan hebat. Hee.
Alhamdulillah, this also means he will be getting his first paycheck very soon ! :D

Oh wow, this is overwhelming.
Feels like I just saw him in his diapers a few years ago.

Before I knew it, he was all grown up...

...got through his Diploma with flying colours !

And soon to be graduating with a honours Degree !

Sobs.
*Sudden rush of emotions alert !*

:"""(
Words cannot express how proud I am of you, Marc. I'm overjoyed !
We've been through some shitty times, it was heartbreaking to see us drift away just because of a stupid idiot, but we managed to pull through and we're slowly patching things up.
Blood is thicker than water.
Although I don't say it out often but I ♥ you with all my heart.

CONGRATULATIONS MARC !!
I AM SUPER DUPER HAPPY FOR YOU !

hands.

I love Thursdays.

I love the fact that I get off work at 3.30pm on Thursdays.
I am not really enjoying the fact that I have to be working this weekend though.
Plus, we're having sort of like a Family Day tomorrow, so I'd have to be at Taman Pertanian Sekayu after work.

I was on medical leave (yawn !) for a couple of days this week. Too lazy to elaborate on what really happened.
My hands are still slightly sore from the IV drip catheter insertion. Not to mention I have two insertion holes instead of one, because the they got it wrong the first time. It hurt so bad ok. :'(

See, the part circled in red ? Salah cucuk ! And yes, that's my blood in the tube because I was moving my hand around without realizing the drip had finished.

Argh, I don't want to go through this sort of thing anymore. I have VERY low pain threshold ok. :(

My first subscribed issue of Flavours magazine arrived in the mailbox today !

I can't explain why I am so excited. Even flipping through the pages made my heart race. I wasn't like this when Newsweek arrived. Crazy.
Haven't received my Reader's Digest copy yet.

Mr Sunshine and were in Kuantan last Friday to watch Alice in Wonderland in 3D !
I wouldn't say I hated it, the visual effects were awesome. Although it did make me reminisce about the good old days, the movie was just okay for me.
Johnny Depp was such a hottie even as the Mad Hatter. Yum.

The henna on my nails is slowly disappearing.

Can I reapply ?
How else would people know that I'm hitched ? Haha, kidding.

I feel a headache coming on.
Sigh. I should lie down for a bit.
Bye.

the biggest loser ?

I think I have only watched one audition episode and one weekly episode of The Biggest Loser Asia.
I only came to know about the finale last night while I was channel surfing as I had difficulty falling asleep. Since I had nothing else to do, I decided to watch it and find out who will win the 100,000 US Dollars.

And, David Gurnani from Indonesia had shed off more than 50% of his initial weight. This percentage added to the whopping sixty something (correct me if I am wrong) percentage of fat loss made him Asia's first Biggest Loser.

But in my opinion (no offence to anyone), he looked quite emaciated and sickly.
I was really worried for him on stage, hoping that he would not collapse or pass out.
He just was not a picture of good health (in my opinion).

I'm all for weight loss, and I feel that what he had achieved was very amazing.
But I feel that this sort of sends out the wrong message to people about losing weight.
Being healthy is not about what shows up on the scales, it's about having sufficient energy to sustain your through your day, maintaining good blood pressure, cholesterol and blood glucose level with a balance between proper eating habits and exercise.

Anywayyy, I hope David is well and happy. 100, 000 US Dollars is a lot ! ;)

birds and stones.

Hi.
I'm alone for tonight. Hubby bubbly is in Kuantan.
He has an enforcement operation to carry out tomorrow and will be back after that, InshaAllah.

We were back in Gombak AND Batu Pahat last weekend.
We reached Gombak late at night on Wednesday, had one Thursday to complete any necessary errands and on Friday we were already on the road to Batu Pahat.
Headed back here on Sunday.
It was a pretty rushed (and tiring) weekend, but we managed to get our original marriage certificate from JAWI as the temporary one we had expires today (OMG we've been married for two months already ! Alhamdulillah) .
We got out marriage certification card done too, so that we won't have to bring along the A4 sized certificate everywhere we go. Alhamdulillah.

It's sad that I did not have time to meet up with friends.
I miss Akey, my Gombak people, Diana, and Annisa. :(
I think I need more than 24 hours in a day !

I don't think we'd be doing the 'killing two hometowns with one weekend' after this.
It will be one hometown at a time, ye sayang ?
Probably once every two months or something like that.
That way, I'm hoping I'd be able to spend some quality time with my family and friends who I rarely get to meet nowadays.

Oh, check out what just came out in the news !
Faster promotions for doctors, dentists and pharmacists.

I'm gonna get some sleep now.
I have a feeling tomorrow will be a busy day.
Goodnight.

two years and counting.

Tomorrow (03/03/10), it will officially be two years since I said yes to being Mr Sunshine's. :)
Alhamdulillah.

Since the both of us are working the whole day tomorrow, and will be heading to Gombak (yippee !) straight after work, we had an early celebratory/kesyukuran lunch. :)

I expressed my desire to enjoy a buffet lunch or high tea. I even made calls to a few hotels around Kuala Terengganu. Then Hubby Bubbly suggested we give Riyaz Heritage Marina, Resort and Spa in Pulau Duyong a try.

Upon arrival at the Verandah Restaurant, we found out that they only served dinner buffet style. Hence we opted for the ala carte lunch menu.
The restaurant was simple, yet beautiful. We chose to sit out on the patio to enjoy the cool afternoon South China Sea breeze. :)

After browsing through their menu, I'd have to say the prices were quite affordable and they had quite a variety in their dishes.
For our drinks, we ordered from their mocktails menu. I went for their Shirley Temple and hubby bubbly ordered Matahari.

My Shirley Temple - Sprite and Grenadine syrup. Not bad at all.

Matahari - Orange juice, soda and something else haha I forgot lah !

We were their only patrons at that time.
I think we were their only customers for the whole lunch time ! We got really comfortable snapping away while waiting for our food.

Hubby bubbly ordered the Heritage Daging Kawah. Sedap kan, awak ?

I chose the Festavita Della Pasta, fettucine with carbonara sauce.

My dish was absolutely rich and delicious ! I finished the whole huge plate, and was even craving for more.

For dessert we had Yam Creme Brulee.
Most of you might already know how I love my desserts, creme brulee included. But I have never tasted YAM creme brulee.
Basically it was your normal delectable creme brulee...

...with yam cubes in it !

I was actually a bit skeptical about digging into it, as I am not a yam fan.
But, one mouthful was enough to make me say that the combination was delightful !

I kinda wished I did not have to share it with Mr Sunshine ! Haha.

All in all, it was a wonderful gastronomical trip !
I am definitely going back there for my pasta and creme brulee fix.
Thank you sayang.

Two years, and counting.
InshaAllah. ;)
