I was 10 when I first heard this song. 17 years have passed and it still gives me goosebumps every single time I listen to it.

50 Things You Need to Know About Marital Relationships
Excerpted from Al Maghrib Institute’s “Fiqh of Love” seminar with Shaykh Waleed Basyouni.
I came across this quite some time ago, felt that it's worth sharing. :)
1. Great relationships don’t just happen; they are created. You have to work at it.
2. If your job takes all of your best energy, your marriage will suffer.
3. One of the greatest gifts you can give your spouse is your own happiness.
4. It is possible to love and hate someone at the same time.
5. When you complain about your spouse to your friends, remember that their feedback can be distorted.
6. The only rules in your marriage are those you both choose to agree with.
7. It is not conflict that destroys marriage; it is the cold, smoldering resentment that you hold for a long time.
8. It’s not what you’ve got, it’s what you do with what you have.
9. If you think you are too good for your spouse, think again.
10. Growing up in a happy household doesn’t ensure a happy marriage, or vice versa.
11. It’s never too late to repair damaged trust.
12. The real issue is usually not the one you are arguing about.
13. Love isn’t just a feeling; it is expressed through our actions.
14. Expectations set us up for disappointment and resentment.
15. Arguments cannot be avoided, but destructive arguments can be avoided.
16. One of the greatest gifts you can give your spouse is focused attention.
17. Even people with happy marriages sometimes worry that they married the wrong person.
18. Your spouse cannot rescue you from unhappiness, but they can help you rescue yourself.
19. The cost of a lie is far greater than any advantage you gain from speaking it.
20. Your opinion is not necessarily the truth.
21. Trust takes years to establish and moments to destroy.
22. Guilt-tripping won’t get you what you really want.
23. Don’t neglect your friends.
24. If you think, “You are not the person I married,” you are probably right.
25. Resisting the temptation to prove your point will win you a lot of points.
26. Generosity of spirit is the foundation of a good marriage.
27. If your spouse is being defensive, you might be giving them reasons to be like that.
28. Marriage isn’t 50/50; it’s 100/100.
29. You can pay now or pay later, but the later you pay, the more interest and penalties you acquire.
30. Marriage requires sacrifice, but your benefits outweigh your costs.
31. Forgiveness isn’t a one-time event; it’s a continous process.
32. Accepting the challenges of marriage will shape you into a better person.
33. Creating a marriage is like launching a rocket: once it clears the pull of gravity, it takes much less energy to sustain the flight.
34. A successful marriage has more to do with how you deal with your current reality than with what you’ve experienced in the past.
35. Don’t keep feelings of gratitude to yourself.
36. There is no greater eloquence than the silence of real listening.
37. One of the greatest questions to ask your spouse is “How best can I love you?”
38. Marriage can stay fresh over time.
39. Assumptions are fine as long as you check them before acting upon them.
40. Intention may not be the only thing, but it is the most important thing.
41. Good sex won’t make your marriage, but it’ll help.
42. Privacy won’t hurt your marriage, but secrecy will.
43. Possessiveness and jealousy are born out of fear, not love.
44. Authenticity is contagious and habit-forming.
45. If your spouse thinks something is important, then it is.
46. Marriage never outgrows the need for romance.
47. The sparkle of a new relationship is always temporary.
48. There is violence in silence when it’s used as a weapon.
49. It’s better to focus on what you can do to make things right, then what your partner did to make things wrong.
50. If you think marriage counseling is too expensive, try divorce.

embrace thy curves.
Two things.
First are body parts women are usually not happy with, such as a soft waistline and hips. I like both very much. Women hate when guys touch and pinch them there, but men don't have curves, and the more women embrace them, the sexier it is!
Second: when a sweaty woman is leaving the gym, because it's similar to the way she might look right after sex. Anything that suggests you in that act [is hot].
-James Marsden on the things women would be surprised to learn that guys find sexy.

Salam Ramadhan everyone !
Have a blessed month of fasting and controlling our nafs.
It's a pity that I can't join most of you to fast tomorrow, I'll have to endure menstrual cramps instead. :)

i have new speakers. yay.
I'm back !
Well I actually reached Kuala Terengganu at about 1600 hours yesterday.
After picking me up at the airport, Mr Sunshine and I had McDonald's (again !), and then we dropped by the Terengganu Trade Centre for the PIKOM PC Fair where Mr Sunshine bought himself a new set of AVF headphones, and I bought a set of Sonic Gear speakers for my lappie. :)
The SERVQUAL workshop I attended at Port Dickson was fun ! I really learned a lot about SPSS and how to handle the Patient Satisfaction Survey which will be compulsory for all KKM hospitals, twice yearly.
We have been told to start as soon as we get back from the workshop, gather at least 450 patients in the next 5 months and run the data analysis with SPSS and present the results by December. And you guessed it, I will be responsible for the whole thing, because I attended the workshop.
I can't believe I am saying this but I am so excited to start working on it !
I am going to let go of all the bitter memories SPSS gave me all these years. Haha.
Sorry, I could not contain the nerd in me. Hehe.
I guess I am fortunate that the hotel we stayed in was very comfortable.
Because earlier on, I was a bit apprehensive about going. Worrying about getting on a cab to Port Dickson from KLIA alone, worried about the hotel condition as Mr Sunshine just came back from an uncomfortable stay while attending a course in Kelantan, worried about not understanding a thing during the workshop and worried about being alone.
But it all turned out a-okay, Alhamdulillah.
I met a couple of my UiTM seniors there, and one of my close friends during my final year Biey (yay !) and my friend when I was in Hospital Putrajaya, Madeline.
I definitely was not alone. Hehe.
I spent most of my time with Biey, who is a new mother (yay !) even though she brought her husband, who is also my ex-classmate in UiTM, and baby boy along on the trip.
I managed to snap a few photos, not enough for you to see how beautiful the place is, but I'm uploading them anyway. :p
My room. Two single beds, I shared a room with my senior, Kak Hendra.
See those frame-like things on the wall ? Those are lamps. Pretty kan ? Please excuse the sight of my sweater and prayer mat on the bed.
View from outside the lobby.
View from the restaurant patio.
I had the opportunity to put my babysitting skills to the test.
While Biey and her husband were carrying their stuff to their room, I watched over their 3-month old baby boy.
Hello Ahmad Muqri Danish !
It did not feel challenging to look after a baby who was sleeping so I woke him up. Haha.
Hello there, again !
But his response was so uncalled for.
But cute. Hehe.
Meet the mother of the baby, Biey who happily shared herscary beautiful experience of giving birth with me. :)
So there you go.
I had fun.
But nothing beats being back in the arms of Mr Sunshine. Hehe. ♥
Ok bye.

servqual ?
Hi all.
I am currently at Avillion Admiral Cove, Port Dickson for a 3-day workshop on Patient Satisfaction Survey using SERVQUAL.
So far, I am loving my room, loving the view of the marina and sea and dinner was not bad too.
More updates when I get back, InshaAllah.
Goodnight.

sal's dad is in the hospital.
Last night just before I went to bed, I received a call from Sal and she was crying.
Her dad was unconscious at Selayang Hospital's Emergency Department, waiting to be transferred to Sungai Buloh Hospital.
My heart sanked.
We were just talking about her dad's health a few days before she got engaged.
He was referred to the neurosurgery ward, and they found out that he had brain hemorrhage. From what I am told, as at now, the cause of the hemorrhage is still unknown, and he is half conscious. He responds to people talking to him but then he just slips back into unconsciousness.
I wish I was there to be by her side and get to know what's really happening.
According to Sal, things are looking better today.
I pray he gets well, and things don't get worse. Ameen.
I am so worried. :(

come on over.
We had visitors after work today.
Mr Sunshine's ex housemate in Kuala Terengganu and his girlfriend came over for an early dinner.
I made spaghetti. Haha, the simplest dish I could think of.
We don't really get visitors here, apart from Daddy, Marc and Marlene coming over last February and my ex colleague cum neighbour, Ina who has dropped by a few times before she was transferred back to Kelantan.
There's something wrong with Mr Sunshine's computer and I feel helpless because I can't do anything about it. :(
I am retiring to bed early tonight.
Pasta fills me up and makes me sleepy.
Goodnight.

induction course in sungkai.
Mr Sunshine and I (and almost all of the PRPs from our batch) just got to know yesterday that we're gonna have to go for a four day induction course tomorrow.
Ours will be at Felda Residence Trolak, Sungkai, Perak.
And no, I do not know where that is.
I do not know whether I should be happy about the whole thing.
It's good that the hubby will be there with me even though we're gonna be placed in separate rooms for sure. It's good to get the course over and done with so that we get our confirmation in service as soon as possible.
But I am really, really, really not in the mood to socialize right now. Blame it on the hormones.
I know there will be people we already know going to be there too.
I guess it'll be alright eh ?
*crosses fingers*
Ok lah, I'm gonna go cuddle with my hubby bubbly. Haha.
Goodnight !

saya anak malaysia.
I stopped by at Alamanda after work just now to get my moisturiser which I am seriously running low of.
Found it at the Guardian there but my visit was not a very pleasant one.
You see, queuing in front of me was a foreigner. I observed how she spoke to him in English so politely, telling him how much he had to pay and smiled as she said thank you after he paid.
When it was my turn it was like she morphed into someone else. She lost her smile, might have lost her voice too as she did not utter a single word to me. Not even to let me know how much I had to pay but of course I knew that from the display.
I looked at her and thanked her after paying, but still, no smile and no thank you. Not even a terima kasih.
WTH ?
So now there are different ways to treat locals and non-locals ?
Sigh.

Currently listening to: Right To Be Wrong - Joss Stone
Just wanted to share what I received in my inbox today.
Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right. Love the ones who don't just because you can. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it. Kiss slowly. Forgive quickly. God never said life would be easy. He just promised it would be worth it.
