Shaklee National Conference 2012/2013

I know this post is a bit late because the Shaklee National Conference was over almost 2 weeks ago, but hey, better late than never ! Hehe.

So Mr. Sunshine and I attended the Shaklee National Conference 2012/2013 on June 8 at Sunway Resort & Spa. It is an annual event to celebrate all the achievers (Star Achievers, as Shaklee puts it) of the previous 2012/2013 cycle. :)

Apart from the awards ceremony, there was also good entertainment and inspiring sharing sessions from Presidential Master Shareeza (my great grandma in Shaklee, hehe) and Master Law Chu Hian (ex-NTV7 broadcaster who beat cancer -  I can't believe he's 50 years old !).

Mr. Sunshine and I were recipients of an award too that day, Alhamdulillah. No words can express my feelings when we walked up the stage with our trophy ! Congratulations to all my sisters in Shaklee who received the same award. Funny how all of us were so excited queuing up to receive our awards. Hehe.

My rock ! Thank you for continuous support, sayang ! :)

Star Achievers ! Photo thanks to Maria Abas

My Ummi in Shaklee is so awesome she received 9 awards ! Yes, 9 ! She is now based in Miri so that goes to show that distance doesn't matter, you can grow with Shaklee no matter where you are.

My Ummi, Senior Key Coordinator Nadiah Suhaidi, who's currently preggers. :)

My 'anak', Hajar, who managed to come that day. :)

It was such a memorable event, overflowing with positive energy. So exhilarating !

I vow to make next year's National Conference even more memorable and I want to see my 'anak-anak' walk up the stage too, InshaAllah ! :)

old boys and old friends.

Hello all !
Updates, as promised.

As if anyone really reads my blog, haha.

Two weeks ago, Mr. Sunshine brought Khayla and I to Ipoh, again. This time around it was for his former school, Sekolah Tuanku Abdul Rahman's (STAR) Old Boys Weekend. We took leave on Friday and checked in at Impiana Hotel, Ipoh that afternoon. Khayla and I spent most of our time in the room while Mr. Sunshine met up with his ex-schoolmates.

Khayla and Ayah at STAR, Ipoh on the evening we arrived. Mr. Sunshine took us on a tour of his school. I had goosebumps, as though it was my former school !

Khayla was pretty excited throughout the whole trip, polishing her walking skills and exploring every nook and cranny in the hotel room.

"Ayah is leaving us in the room ? No biggie, I'll just lie down and watch telly !"
"...or maybe lie down and check out what I can order from the room service menu !"

Trying to call room service ? Hehe.

I guess she found her happy place. Hehe.
Told ya she enjoyed herself !

Immediately after we reached home on Sunday evening (16/9/2012), we freshened up and headed to Gan & Wei Ting's wedding. Lene was supposed to come along, but she found a date at the very last minute and met us there instead. :)

It was such a beautiful night ! I got to meet my beautiful friends (and probably the only people apart from my family who know how to pronounce my name correctly, haha tetiba) and celebrate the lovely couple. I had tears in my eyes when I saw the bride & groom walking hand in hand. This is the guy I've known since I was 14 ! I know our friendship has changed over the years and we're not as close as we were before, but I was truly happy for him ! *nangis*

CONGRATULATIONS MR. & MRS GAN !! :))

The ever so beautiful Felicia and I. Even Khayla was enamoured by her.

L-R: Khayla, Me, Judith, Felicia, Marlene & Jaclyn. :)

Group photo ! See, Khayla is still trying to peek at Felicia ! Hehehe.

Ayah, who had to tend to Khayla when she started to get sleepy and cranky.
Looking forward to get together with all of them soon, since I'm back in Gombak already.

I had to go for a 4 days-3 nights induction course at UiTM's Training Centre, Kampung Gajah, Perak from last Friday to Monday.
I was fortunate that I had already attended an induction when I was working with the Ministry of Health, so I only had to attend 4 out of the 14 days of induction. Alhamdulillah.
I was very impressed by the rooms they provided for us for the course. Almost hotel-like, with two twin beds, air condition, water heater and we even have to insert our keycard for power. Hehe. It was a comfortable stay, plus I had an awesome roomie so all in all it was good.
I sure hope I aced the exam ! Ameen.

They even provided us with towels, shampoos & shower gels. :)

Mr. Sunshine and I will be moving out from Gombak to Shah Alam soon. We found a 2-storey house to rent for the time being. Why move out ? Well, it's an effort to save energy, time, and money. :)
We went to see the house two nights ago and it was okayyy lah. It isn't my dream house, but I can live in it. I think. Haha.

Although Syawal has ended, I'm gonna leave you people with two snapshots of my colleagues and I during our office's Raya celebration.

With my boss (in purple) and the pharmacy assistants. :)

Comel tak kami ? Haha.
 Here's to a smashing weekend, bye !

it doesn't take much to make me happy.

This is a lazy post.

Mr. Sunshine, Marlene and I had the privilege to attend the beautiful wedding of Trevor & Judith last weekend. :)
It was definitely a night to remember and I was thrilled to be able to meet friends I haven't seen in almost a year  !

Didn't get to take a picture with both the bride and groom, but here's one with the gorgeous bride ! :)
Paul, Lene and I. :)

Sunshine ! :)
My beautiful sister.
With the ever so lovely Felicia ! :)

The whole family had steak at Uptown Damansara the night before. :)

With Cuppacakes for dessert !

THE BEST red velvet cupcake !

We stuffed ourselves and goofed around during lunch at Cozy House, Ampang Park.

I got to satisfy my cravings for Nando's when I met up with Diana for lunch. We're due exactly a month apart !

Mr. Sunshine was a happy man with his Subway sandwich. :)

Nothing beats having breakfast with my darling Annisa. :)

End of lazy post.
Goodnight.

smelly jackfruit.

I slipped and fell on my butt yesterday morning.

Yes, this is not a joke.
I fell like a smelly jackfruit (nangka busuk). Hah take that, direct translation ! Hehe.

It was actually the second time it had happened within the past 3 months. And both times, it happened at the same spot here at home.
The difference this time is, my back hurt longer than it did before and the pain intensified as the hours passed. As I was also worried about how Mini Mel was doing after the fall, I decided to get myself checked.
I was not bleeding and neither did I have any other sort of discomfort but the doctor told me I had to be admitted for monitoring purposes.
I did not refuse admission this time around because I knew it wasn't only for my sake but for my baby's sake too.

So, I checked into the maternity ward here (at the hospital I am working at) yesterday afternoon. The ward has a strict policy which disallows anyone to accompany the patients in the ward outside visiting hours so that means I was left alone the whole night. Mr. Sunshine got to see me for about 5 minutes yesterday evening because he couldn't get off work early. :(
But Alhamdulillah, everything turned out normal with Mini Mel, my back pain became more bearable, and I was allowed home this morning.
All in all, it was not a pleasant one night's stay (from sweating all night because the fan was too far, to painful looks on the faces of the other patients who were experiencing contractions to the soft screams of women in labour !!), but am extremely grateful that everything's alright. Alhamdulillah.
I honestly take my hats off to the women who could go through all that labour pain ALONE.
I can cry just at the thought of it !
Boy, am I glad to be home with Mr. Sunshine.

Note to self: Tak payah nak jalan laju-laju sangat lah bila perut dah besar ini !

Let's move on to less despairing updates.
Mr. Sunshine and I made a trip to Kota Bharu, Kelantan last weekend to attend a friend's wedding kenduri. We stayed at Tune Hotel, Kota Bharu which is located just a stone's throw away from KB Mall. The room we got smelled of cigarette despite it being a non-smoking room, but other than that we were pretty pleased with it.
I made a mistake in purchasing 24-hours credit for the air cond & telly, we spent less than half of the time in our room ! Lesson learned.

We did some shopping for baby stuff while we were there, had breakfast with Zana (who's currently working in Hospital Tanah Merah) and paid a visit to my ex-colleague, Ina and her 8-month old daughter. :)

Our King Sized bed.

We were lazy to bring our towels & toiletries so we purchased the towel+toiletries set !

Contents of the toiletries set.

We wasted more than 12 hours credit ! :(

The highlight of our trip for me was of course, KENNY ROGERS !!! :D

At our UiTM mates, Izza & Bob's kenduri. Congrats again you two !! :D

That's all for tonight I guess.
Before I end, I'll leave you all with this.

Goodnight !

it takes two to tango.

Boy, am I exhausted !
Mr Sunshine and I just made it back from a night's stay in Kota Bharu, Kelantan.
We dropped by my very pregnant ex-colleague, Ina's home, met up with Zana and Hannah (who were attending a course there), had super delicious tomyam, seafood and chicken dishes with them and did quite a bit of shopping at Wakaf Che Yeh, Rantau Panjang and Kota Bharu Mall.
And we did all that in 24 hours !
I feel so accomplished. Haha. :p

Mr Sunshine will have to be in Kelantan again for two nights starting tomorrow, this time in Jeli for work purposes.
Then he'll be off to Pahang for a conference until Friday !
Crazy kan ?

Well, sayangkan isteri tinggal-tinggalkan eh ?

If I could meet the person who coined that phrase I would give him/her a good slap so that he/she would come to their senses and realize that's total rubbish.
Sorry, angry wife speaking here.

But every cloud has a silver lining, but in my case the lining must be gold and beaded with diamonds because I am going home baby !!
My flight is on Tuesday night (after Mr Sunshine gets back from Jeli) and am currently trying to fit in getting together with friends that I miss so much (yes, you !) in my schedule without having to leave Daddy alone for long hours and without having to miss my best friend's wedding which is happening this coming weekend !
I have sooo many people to meet !!
Ok that's too many exclamation marks in a paragraph.
But I am so excited lah !!

Although, through all the excitement, there have also been a couple of saddening situations I had to endure the past two days.
I am sore and (heart)broken that I can't even cry that much, and that's definitely not normal for me.
I hate not being able to cry because then I will end up feeling like there's a huge brick on my chest and no matter how hard I try I can't get the bloody brick off.
Angry.
Sad.
Disappointed.
Guilty.
Imagine having all those emotions rolled up into one.
SIGH.

I love Mr Sunshine for sticking with me through all of this. Alhamdulillah.

But I am still excited about going home !
Daddy I miss youuuuuu !

I should get to bed, I have work tomorrow.
Goodnight !

we're back !

I'm back ! Alhamdulillah.
Well, I've been back for two days already.
I'm still in one piece ! Or in two three pieces extra, since they fed us SIX times a day everyday.
*burps*
The whole induction course was quite a relaxed one. We did not have to wake up at wee hours of the morning or go through torturous physical and mental exercises. In fact, we had zero exercise. Haha.
I would say the course was a test of how good we were at refraining ourselves from falling asleep during the non stop talks and lectures. I succeeded pretty well though there were times I had to shove my mouth with mint every 5 minutes and slap myself to keep me awake.
It reminded me a lot of how it was in class during degree. Hehe. Furthermore, I was sitting next to the same person who sat next to me for four years, Zana !

I learnt quite a bit from those four days, about ethics, financial management, circulars and budaya korporat. There was this one talk that I found really inspiring where the speaker reminded us on and on about our purpose in work and life.
He reminded us about how important it is to be sincere and do things for the sake of Allah. Then, InshaAllah, He will pull you through everything and anything.
It's all in the niat, people. :)

It was such a blessing that I had hubby bubbly as my roomie. :D
We heard that married couples were not encouraged to stay in the same room throughout the course, but during check-in at Felda Residence, Trolak, the receptionist was kind enough to let us have a room to ourselves. :)
The room was not too bad. We did not enjoy the food though.

I was super happy to get to meet old friends from high school, UiTM and my previous workplace. :D

Made new pharmacists and dentists friends as well. :D
There were no doctors this time around.

Mr Sunshine and I will be driving back to Batu Pahat this evening, we're having our reception for his side this Sunday. :)
Jadi pengantin baru lagi. Hee. :p
Hoping to see you all there ! :)

Gotta go get ready for work now, bye !
